The message box

  • Model picker

    Lists every model with how many messages you have left on it (“106 left”, or “47 today” for an everyday model). A model your plan can't use is locked, with an “On paid plans” link to the plans.

  • The count

    Next to the send button: how many messages you have left on the model you picked. In a long chat it says each reply counts as 2 (or 4) before you send, and a full chat says so.

  • Attachments

    Attach up to 10 files a message: images, PDFs (up to 100 pages) and text files.

  • Skills and personas

    Pick a persona (instructions plus a default model) or a skill for the chat.

  • Slash commands

    Type / for quick commands: a new chat, rename or delete this one, change the model, switch the theme.

  • Stop and Continue

    Stop a reply while it's being written. When a reply reaches your plan's length limit it offers Continue, at the price of a new message.

The Tools menu

The message box's Tools menu asks the model to use one tool for the next message. Each entry says what it adds before you send.

  • Search the web — Look it up on the web, with sources (on Free, inside the 5 trial messages; on a paid plan, one more message of the model in use).

  • Read a link — Answer from a page you paste (on Free, inside the 5 trial messages; on a paid plan, one more message of the model in use).

  • Research report — A cited report from many searches (counts as 15 Claude Haiku 4.5 messages, paid plans).

  • Deep research report — A longer, deeper cited report (counts as 75 Claude Haiku 4.5 messages, paid plans).

  • Create slides — A deck to present or download as PowerPoint (free).

  • Create document — Writing you can edit and download (free).

  • Create spreadsheet — A sheet to edit, or download as Excel (free).

  • Build an app — An interactive page that runs in your browser (free).

  • Build a backend app — A small server app with a live preview (counts as 5 Claude Haiku 4.5 messages per started 10 min, paid plans).

  • Run code — Python or Node.js in a sandbox (counts as 1 Claude Haiku 4.5 message a run, paid plans).

  • Create image — An image from your description, with the model you pick (you pick the image model, from 1 Claude Haiku 4.5 message an image: Qwen-Image 2.1 (Alibaba, via kie.ai): 1; GPT Image 2.5 Flare (OpenAI, via kie.ai): 2; Nano Banana 2 (Google, via kie.ai): 2; Seedream 5.0 Lite (ByteDance, via kie.ai): 2; FLUX.2 Pro (Black Forest Labs, via kie.ai): 2; Ideogram 3.0 (Ideogram, via kie.ai): 2; Nano Banana Pro (Google, via kie.ai): 5, paid plans).

Code runs, backend apps, research reports and MCP tools ask for your approval before they run, unless you've set them to Always allow in Settings.

The side panel

  • Documents

    Drafts, code, sheets and slides open beside the chat. Each edit is a new version you can step back through; download text as PDF, Word or Markdown, sheets as Excel or CSV, slides as PowerPoint.

  • Apps

    Small HTML apps run live in the panel. On a paid plan, a backend app runs in a sandbox and shows its preview there too.

  • Research reports

    Research reports appear as a card in the chat while they run; open the report when it's done.

Settings

  • Billing

    Your plan, what's left and when it refills, and a paid plan's fair-use limit; upgrade, change or cancel; top-ups on a paid plan.

  • Memory

    What llmwise remembers about you, on every model: add, edit or delete memories, turn memory off, or delete it all.

  • Tools

    Every tool and whether your plan has it, with an Always allow switch for the ones that ask before they run: running code, backend apps and research reports.

  • MCP

    Connect MCP servers on a paid plan, test them, and choose which of their tools may run without asking.

  • Skills

    Personas and skills: use the built-in personas or make your own, and upload skills the model can use.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • ⌘/Ctrl + K: the command palette (a new chat, your chats, settings).

  • ⌘/Ctrl + /: jump to the message box.

  • ⌘/Ctrl + B: show or hide the sidebar.

  • Esc: close the side panel.

  • ?: show every shortcut.

Questions

Where do I see how many messages I have left?

Next to the send button, on the model you picked; the model picker shows every model's. Settings → Billing and the usage card in the sidebar show what's left and when it refills.

Can I change models in the middle of a chat?

Yes. Pick another model in the picker at any point; the next model sees the whole chat. Past 64k tokens each reply counts as 2 (past 128k, as 4), so start a new one for a new topic.
