How the count is worked out
One allowance, a count per model
On a paid plan, every model but the everyday ones draws on one monthly allowance. A message on a bigger model takes more of it, so each model's count is what the whole allowance pays for there; use several and the counts share it.
Everyday models
Claude Haiku 5.5, GPT-6 Luna, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, and GLM 5.3 Flash have a count of their own each day (60 on Pro), refilled at 00:00 UTC, and never touch the monthly allowance.
Long chats
Long chats: once the conversation sent to the model passes 64k tokens, each reply counts as 2; past 128k, as 4; past 200k the chat is full. The calculator's chat length shows what that does to a count, and the message box says so before you send.
Images and top-ups
Each image model has a fixed price, taken from the same monthly allowance on a paid plan. On Free, images are made in Create. Top-ups: $10 adds 25 messages on Claude Fable 5.1 or GPT-6 Astra; 50 on Claude Opus 5.5 or Gemini 4 Argon; 100 on Claude Sonnet 5.5-class models; or 200 on Claude Haiku 4.5-class models, valid 12 months.

Free is a one-time trial shared by the models marked. A paid plan's monthly counts come from one allowance, so each is the most you get if all of it goes to that model; the daily counts are separate. How pricing works has every rule.
Every limit is published. Paid plans also have a monthly fair-use limit on AI cost: Plus $3.75, Pro $7.50, Max $20, Ultra $42, Studio $85. Using every message on your plan at typical sizes stays under it; very large messages and heavy research use it faster. Every limit, explained.

How many images can I make?
On a paid plan, as many as the monthly allowance pays for at that model's price: on Pro, up to 125 with GPT Image 2.5 Flare, up to 125 with Nano Banana 2, up to 50 with Nano Banana Pro, up to 125 with FLUX.2 Pro, up to 125 with Ideogram 3.0. Free's trial is messages only; Free makes images in Create.
Do unused messages carry over to next month?
No: the allowance renews each billing period and unused messages don't carry over. A $10 top-up lasts 12 months. Free is a one-time trial of 5 messages.
