How the picker works

  • What it looks at

    Only models in llmwise, straight from our catalog: how many messages Pro gets on it, whether Free's trial has it, and whether it reads images or takes a PDF as the whole file.

  • What it doesn't do

    It groups the models that fit by price band and says what each band suits for the job you picked. It doesn't rank models or quote benchmark scores.

Then test it on your own work

  1. Take one real task, with the files you'd really attach.

  2. Ask it on a model from the band the picker starts you on. If the answer is good enough, you're done.

  3. If it isn't, switch to a model in the next band, in the same chat, and ask again.

How does the picker choose?

It doesn't pick one for you. It narrows the models in llmwise down to the ones that fit your plan and your files, and shows which price band suits which part of the job. The best model for you is the cheapest one that gets your own questions right.

Which model should I start with?

Start with an everyday model (Claude Haiku 5.5, GPT-6 Luna, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, and GLM 5.3 Flash). On a paid plan they use a daily count and never touch the monthly allowance the other models share; Free is a one-time trial of 5 messages.

How do I decide between two models?

Ask the same real question on two of the models it shows, in one chat: switch models in the picker and ask again. The next model sees the whole conversation.
