GLM 5.3 and GLM 5.3 Flash, in one chat

Z.ai's two GLM models in an English chat: GLM 5.3 for harder questions and GLM 5.3 Flash for quick ones. What each reads, what each plan gets, and whether you can use them free.

Updated .

Short answer

GLM 5.3 and GLM 5.3 Flash are Z.ai's models. Both are in llmwise's one-time free trial of 5 messages, with no Z.ai account. On Pro ($20), GLM 5.3 gets up to 250 messages a month and GLM 5.3 Flash 60 messages a day, through OpenRouter, asking only for hosts that don't store or train on prompts.

GLM 5.3 or GLM 5.3 Flash?

Same family, two jobs: one for questions that need thought, one for the everyday ones.

  • GLM 5.3

Our catalog describes it as “Z.ai's capable open-weight model”. It reads text only, no images, reasons before it answers, and gets up to 250 messages a month on Pro: about $0.0087 a typical message at Z.ai's price.

  • GLM 5.3 Flash

Fast, low-cost GLM model with vision. An everyday model: 60 messages a day on Pro, counted apart from the monthly allowance. It reads text and images, at about $0.0010 a typical message.

Both GLM models, plan by plan

GLM 5.3 Flash counts by the day, GLM 5.3 by the month, so heavy use of Flash never touches your monthly messages.

Ultra$100 a monthUp to 1,800 a month200 a day
Studio$200 a monthUp to 4,000 a month200 a day

Prices don't include tax, which is added where it applies and shown before you pay. A paid plan's month is one allowance shared by every model, so each monthly count is the most you get if all of it goes to that model. It renews each billing period; everyday models refill daily at 00:00 UTC. Long chats count more per reply. How pricing works.

Every limit is published. Paid plans also have a monthly fair-use limit on AI cost: Pro $7.50, Max $20, Ultra $42, Studio $85. Using every message on your plan at typical sizes stays under it; very large messages and heavy research use it faster. Every limit, explained.

  • On a paid plan, a $10 top-up adds up to 200 more GLM 5.3 messages, valid 12 months. It doesn't change GLM 5.3 Flash's daily count.

  • Long chats count more on both: past 64k tokens each reply counts as 2, past 128k as 4, and a chat stops at 200k.

Is GLM 5.3 free online?

In llmwise, both GLM models are in the one-time trial of 5 messages, with no card: enough to see how they answer your own questions. It's a trial, not a free plan; after it, GLM needs a paid plan. For reference, Z.ai's own price for GLM 5.3 is $1.40 in and $4.40 out per million tokens, and some hosts charge less.

Where your GLM messages go

  • There's no direct connection to Z.ai: GLM messages go through OpenRouter, which passes each one to a company hosting the model.

  • llmwise asks OpenRouter, on every request, for hosts that according to OpenRouter don't store prompts for their own use or train on them, and not for hosts listed as running a 4-bit (fp4) build.

  • Whichever host answers handles the request under its own terms.

  • Your chats are kept in llmwise so you can return to them, and you can delete them whenever you like.

GLM 5.3 next to DeepSeek V4 Pro and Kimi K3

On Pro, GLM 5.3 gets up to 250 messages a month, DeepSeek V4 Pro up to 250 and Kimi K3 up to 125. Of the three, only Kimi K3 reads images; for a question about a picture, GLM 5.3 Flash is the everyday choice. All three are in the free trial, so the quickest test is one question, asked of each in the same chat.

Each badge is how many messages Pro gets on the model: a month’s, or a day’s on an everyday model. Free is a one-time trial of 5 messages on the models marked. “Text only” models get the text of a PDF, not the file. API prices are the per-token prices in our model catalog as of September 2026 (Z.ai: Z.ai's list price; DeepSeek: the price of the OpenRouter endpoints llmwise uses, not DeepSeek's own API; Moonshot: Moonshot's list price). In llmwise you pay per message, not per token.
