- Is there a free plan?
- Free is a one-time trial: 5 messages on Claude Haiku 5.5, with no card needed. Every other model needs a paid plan. There's no daily refill; after your 5, pick a paid plan to keep going.
- What happens when I run out?
- On a paid plan you can keep chatting with the fast models (they refill daily, up to the fair-use limit), wait for your allowance to renew, buy a top-up, or upgrade. On Free, your 5 messages are one time: pick a paid plan to keep going. If you reach your plan's fair-use limit, every message pauses, the fast models' too, until your allowance renews or you buy a top-up, and we tell you why. We never charge you automatically for going over.
- Is anything ever charged without my seeing it first?
- No. Every message and every tool shows its price before it runs, and plan changes show the amount before you confirm.
- Why do bigger models use more?
- Because they cost much more to run: Claude Fable costs us about ten times what Claude Haiku does per message. The "How we set these numbers" table shows exactly why.
- Do unused messages expire?
- On a paid plan, your monthly allowance renews on your billing date each month, unused messages don't carry over, and fast-model messages refill daily. Top-ups last 12 months; if you cancel, you can keep using them for messages only for 30 days after your plan ends, within your last billing period's fair-use limit, and anything left then waits until they expire, in case you come back. Free's 5 messages are one time.
- Are taxes included?
- No. Prices are in US dollars, and tax is added at checkout based on where you live.
What does Agent mode do, and how many tasks do I get?
Agent mode does a whole task for you while you do something else: it plans the steps, searches and reads, writes a report or builds an app, and on Plus and up works in your connected apps too. It asks before it sends anything. Free includes 1 task to try, once per email address. Plus includes up to 5 tasks a month, Pro 10, Max 32, Ultra 72 and Studio 160, from the same allowance as your messages, and a top-up adds 8. A task that fails or makes nothing is refunded.
