Short answer
Claude Free costs nothing and Claude Pro $20 a month, or $17 billed yearly. Neither publishes a count; Anthropic says Pro gives at least 5x Free's usage per five-hour session, adds Opus and Claude Code, and adds a weekly cap. Neither includes Fable. llmwise Pro ($20) has up to 31 Fable 5.1 messages a month.

What does Claude Pro add over Free?
At least 5x per five-hour session, in Anthropic's words, plus Opus, Claude Code, projects, research and Claude in Chrome. Pro also has a weekly limit across all models.
Is Claude Pro cheaper for students?
Anthropic says it doesn't offer standard discounted pricing on paid plans; students at universities with its Education plan get access through their school.
