Short answer
In India, ChatGPT Go costs ₹399 a month, Plus ₹1,999 and Pro from ₹10,699, as OpenAI's pricing page shows them there; the free plan is ₹0. UPI works for Go and Plus but not Pro. The 12-month free Go offer for India ended on January 21, 2026, and OpenAI doesn't say whether its rupee prices include GST.

Is ChatGPT Go still free in India?
No. OpenAI's release notes say the offer of 12 months of ChatGPT Go at no cost in India ended on January 21, 2026 (checked September 28, 2026). Go now costs ₹399 a month, and the free plan is still ₹0.
Can I pay for ChatGPT with UPI?
For Go and Plus, yes: OpenAI's billing help says UPI isn't offered for Pro. Cards work in every country. If you subscribe in the iOS or Android app, Apple or Google bills you instead, in your local currency.
Does ChatGPT Plus's ₹1,999 include GST?
OpenAI doesn't say. Its pricing page shows Plus at ₹1,999 a month to visitors in India, and neither it nor OpenAI's billing help says whether GST is in that price or added at checkout, so check the total before you pay.
Is there a yearly ChatGPT plan in India?
Not for Go, Plus or Pro: OpenAI says it doesn't support annual billing or paying several months in advance for them. Each renews monthly until you cancel.
