Side by side: gluten-free pancakes from only 7 ingredients
The same input on GPT-6 Luna and GLM 5.3 Flash, as each answered it, unedited.
Write this recipe: a title, servings and time, an Ingredients list with quantities, and numbered Method steps. Keep every rule I give; include nothing I ruled out. --- Gluten-free pancakes for 6 people, using only what I have: eggs, milk, rice flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and butter.
Gluten-Free Rice Flour Pancakes Serves 6 | Total time: 30 minutes Ingredients - 3 cups rice flour - 3 teaspoons baking powder - 3 tablespoons sugar - 1 teaspoon salt - 3 eggs - 2½ cups milk - 4 tablespoons butter, melted, plus a little for the pan Method 1. Whisk the rice flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a large bowl. 2. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and milk. Stir in the melted butter. 3. Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes. 4. Warm a lightly buttered pan over medium heat. Pour in about ¼ cup of batter for each pancake. 5. Cook until bubbles appear on top and the edges look set, about 2–3 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until golden and the center is set with no wet batter, about 1–2 minutes more. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding a little butter to the pan as needed.
Fluffy Gluten-Free Rice Flour Pancakes Serves 6 (about 12 pancakes) — Total time: 30 minutes Ingredients - 300 g rice flour - 2 tablespoons baking powder (make sure it's certified gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons sugar - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 3 large eggs - 500 ml milk (plus a little extra water, up to 100 ml, if the batter is too thick) - 50 g butter, melted, plus extra for frying Method 1. In a large bowl, whisk together the rice flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. 2. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the milk and the melted butter (make sure the butter has cooled slightly so it doesn't scramble the eggs). 3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and whisk until smooth. Rice flour absorbs a lot of liquid, so let the batter rest 5 minutes; if it's thicker than pouring cream, loosen it with a splash of water. 4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a small knob of butter. 5. Spoon in about 60 ml of batter per pancake. Cook 2–3 minutes, until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges look set and dry. 6. Flip carefully and cook another 2 minutes, until golden and puffed. The pancakes are cooked through when they feel springy in the centre and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, with no wet batter on it. 7. Keep finished pancakes warm on a plate covered with a clean tea towel while you cook the rest, adding a little butter to the pan between batches. 8. Serve warm, stacked, with whatever topping you like.
How the inputs are scored
- Key facts: the answer must state each fact the input turns on (a number, a name, a date or a condition), as the input gives it, keep any format rule the input sets (one sentence, a word limit, a number of items, a length for each), and say nothing the input rules out (an ingredient, a claim it doesn't back); how it's worded isn't judged.
The inputs: dinner for 4 from four ingredients, a vegan lunch for 2, nut-free banana bread, gluten-free pancakes from only 7 ingredients, and scale a recipe from 4 to 10. Every model gets the tool's own instructions and up to Pro's reply limit. The method is the same as our other test runs.
How to use the AI recipe generator
List the ingredients you have, how many people are eating, how long you've got, and any rule (vegan, nut-free, only these). Up to 1,000 characters.
Pick a diet, the units and the language.
Press “Get a recipe”. Without an account you see how it starts (1 free run a day, no account needed).
Check the ingredients against your rules, then taste as you cook.
Tips for a better answer
Say “only these”
Say “only these ingredients” when the shops are shut. Otherwise it adds what the dish needs, in the ingredient list, so you can see what to buy.
Time and kit
Give the time you have (“under 30 minutes”) and the equipment (“one pan”, “no oven”). The method is built around them.
Who's at the table
Name who's eating: “two kids who hate spice”, “a coeliac guest”. The rules go into the recipe, not a footnote.
Then the shopping list
Signed in, ask for a shopping list or a make-ahead version in the same chat. It works from the recipe you have.
What a good recipe looks like
Nothing you ruled out
A recipe for a nut-free bake sale that suggests “walnuts, optional” has failed. Read the ingredient list against every rule you gave before you shop.
Quantities that match the servings
When a recipe is scaled, every quantity changes, not just the main one. 200 g of pasta for 4 is 500 g for 10, and the garlic, oil and seasoning scale too.
Cooked through
Chicken, pork and eggs need a safe inside temperature or a clear sign they're done (juices run clear, no pink). Check that the recipe says so.
Taste before you trust
An AI recipe hasn't been cooked. Taste as you go, and check the salt and the timings the first time you make it.
What's free, and what signing up adds
Without an account: 1 free run a day, on GPT-6 Luna, shared with the free message on our home page. It takes up to 1,000 characters, writes up to about 600 tokens (roughly 450 words), and shows you the start of the recipe.
Signing up is free, with an email link and no card. llmwise accounts are for people 18 and older. The recipe you ran comes with you as your first chat, and you get 5 free messages on almost every model (all but Claude Fable 5.1, Claude Opus 5.5, and GPT-6 Astra).
Signed in, the tool runs on the model you pick, on your plan, shows the whole answer, and you can carry on in the chat with any model, or ask another model the same thing.
More free tools are on the tools page, and what each plan gives is on pricing.
Questions
Is the AI recipe generator free?
Yes. Without an account you get 1 run a day on GPT-6 Luna, shared with the free message on our home page: you see the start of the recipe, and the rest when you sign up. Signing up is free and adds 5 free messages on almost every model in llmwise (all but Claude Fable 5.1, Claude Opus 5.5, and GPT-6 Astra), with no card.
Can it cook with only what I have?
Yes. List what you have and say “only these”: it adds nothing else but water. Without that, it builds the recipe around what you have and lists anything else the dish needs (flour for a bread, an onion for a curry) with the rest.
Does it handle allergies and diets?
Pick a diet (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free) or name the allergy in your description. It leaves the ingredient out entirely, not as an “optional” extra. For a serious allergy, still read every label: packaged ingredients can contain traces.
Can it scale a recipe?
Paste the recipe and the new number of servings. Every quantity is scaled, and our test runs check the scaled amounts on every model.
Does it count calories?
No. It estimates nothing about calories or nutrition and gives no medical or diet advice. For a medical diet, ask your doctor or a dietitian.
