How the inputs are scored
- Back-translation: the translation must keep every name and number, be in the right language, and read back close to the original when another model translates it back without seeing it.
The inputs: a shipping notice into spanish, museum opening hours into french, a work message into portuguese, a formal apology into german, and idioms in a welcome note, into japanese. Every model gets the tool's own instructions and up to Pro's reply limit. The method is the same as our other test runs.

Tips for a better answer
Give it context
Translate whole paragraphs, not single sentences: the model needs the context to pick the right word and the right tone.
Set the tone
Pick Formal for customers, officials and anyone you'd address by surname; the translation then uses the polite forms the language has.
Let models check each other
Signed in, run the same text on two or three models. Where they agree, you can trust it more; where they differ, that's the phrase to check.
Translate it back
Translate the result back into your language in a second run. If the meaning comes back intact, the translation carried it.
What a good translation looks like
Every name and number kept
Names, codes and links should come through exactly as they were, and numbers, prices, dates and times at the same value. A translation that changes 14:30 to 2:30 or drops an order number isn't one you can send.
Meaning over words
Idioms should be translated by what they mean, not word for word. “Hit the ground running” has no literal equivalent in most languages.
The same tone
The tone should match: a formal letter stays formal (usted, vous, Sie), a message to a friend stays casual.
A second opinion for what matters
For anything that matters (a contract, a medical note), have a native speaker read it. Two models agreeing is a good sign, not a guarantee.
