Our tests of Z.ai's models
We send "Reply with OK" to GLM 5.3 Flash every 5 minutes and GLM 5.3 every 30 minutes, and time how long each takes to start answering and to finish. The verdict covers the last 15 minutes: our last three tests.

What Z.ai's status page says
Z.ai's own status page, read at most once a minute. It reports incidents once Z.ai's team confirms them, so it can lag behind what users and our tests see.
Z.ai doesn't publish a status page we could find, so there's no official word to show. Its website: z.ai.
What our test covers, and what it doesn't
Our test calls Z.ai's GLM models through OpenRouter, the way llmwise does, on hosts that don't store or train on prompts. It tells you whether the models answer; Z.ai's own chat and API are separate and have no public status page.
Each test is one message of a few words, with the reply capped at 32 tokens, tried once, with no retry and no switch to another route. A test counts as failed when the model refuses it as busy (a rate limit or "overloaded"), breaks (a server error), drops the connection, or takes more than 30 seconds. A test our own request broke doesn't count against GLM.
What to do now
If our test passes, GLM models are answering: the trouble is likely one host, or your requests.
Retry with a growing wait between tries, and fewer requests at once.
Try the same model through another host.
Or ask another company's model for now.
Ask another model
llmwise has Claude, GPT, Gemini and more in one chat, so an outage at one company doesn't stop your work. The free trial is 5 messages, with a sign-in link by email and no card.
GLM errors, and how to fix them
The errors people see most with GLM, what each one usually means, and what to try.
429 errors about concurrency or rate
Your account has too many requests in flight, or the host is busy.
Send fewer requests at the same time and retry after a pause.
500 or 503 errors
The host running GLM had trouble.
Retry with a growing wait; if it lasts, try another host of the same model.
Replies that stop or time out
A long reasoning answer ran past a time limit.
Ask for a shorter answer, or turn off long thinking if your client allows it.

Questions
Does Z.ai have a status page?
Not one we could find. That's why our own test matters here: it's the only live signal on this page.
Why can your test pass while Z.ai's own site is down?
GLM models are open-weight, so several companies host them. Our test goes through OpenRouter, the way llmwise does, which picks a host that doesn't store or train on prompts. If Z.ai's own chat or API is struggling, the same models can still answer elsewhere.
What does a 429 or "concurrency" error from GLM mean?
Usually that the host is busy or your account sent too many requests at once. Waiting and retrying fixes most of it.
What can I use while GLM is down?
The same GLM models through llmwise, or another company's model: Claude, GPT, and Gemini are in the same chat, and the free trial is 5 messages with no card.
Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok, Kimi, and GLM, in one chat.
