The city council voted 7–2 on Tuesday to ban cars from the Old Market district on weekends, starting 1 March. The ban covers 14 streets and will be reviewed after six months. Shop owners are divided, and critics say parking nearby will get worse.

Hi all, quick update on the Q3 launch. Engineering found a bug in the payment flow during final testing, so we're moving the launch from 14 October to 21 October. Marketing will shift the campaign by a week; no other dates change. Let me know by Friday if this affects your plans.

We followed 1,240 adults aged 50 to 70 for eight years. Participants who walked at least 7,000 steps a day had a 23% lower rate of memory decline than those who walked under 3,000, after adjusting for age, education and heart disease. Because this is an observational study, it cannot show that walking causes the difference.

Side by side: the decision in a long text
The same input on DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and GPT-6 Luna, as each answered it, unedited.
Summarize this in exactly one sentence, with its main point and key figure, and nothing else. --- After a two-hour discussion that covered the budget, hiring and the new logo, the board of Harbor & Pine approved moving the company's European office from Dublin to Lisbon, effective 1 April 2027. The move will affect 48 staff, all of whom will be offered relocation or a severance package. The board also agreed to delay the new logo until the autumn and to freeze hiring in marketing until March. Finance reported that costs were 3% under budget for the quarter, mostly because of lower travel spending. The next board meeting is on 12 December.

How the inputs are scored
- Key facts: the answer must state each fact the input turns on (a number, a name, a date or a condition), as the input gives it, keep any format rule the input sets (one sentence, a word limit, a number of items, a length for each), and say nothing the input rules out (an ingredient, a claim it doesn't back); how it's worded isn't judged.
The inputs: a library's new hours, an email in 20 words, a study's finding and its caveat, the decision in a long text, and one sentence, in spanish. Every model gets the tool's own instructions and up to Pro's reply limit. The method is the same as our other test runs.
How to use the One-sentence summary
Paste the text, up to 1,600 characters.
Pick the word limit and the language.
Press “Summarize in one sentence”. Without an account you see its start (1 free run a day, no account needed).
Use it as a TL;DR, a subject line or the first line of a summary.
Tips for a better answer
Lead with it
Use the sentence as your email's first line or subject: readers decide in one line whether to open the rest.
Say who it's for
Summarizing for a particular reader? Add “for the finance team” and the sentence keeps what they care about.
Match the limit to the use
Pick 20 words for a headline or a tweet, 40 for a report's opening line.
Steer the point
If the sentence misses the point you think matters, the text may bury it. Ask for the summary to lead with it.
What a good summary looks like
Really one sentence
One sentence means one full stop. Two short sentences joined by a semicolon is two sentences in disguise.
The point, not the topic
The sentence should carry the text's main point, not its topic: “The council banned cars from Old Market on weekends from 1 March” rather than “The article is about a car ban”.
The key figure kept
If the text turns on a number, a name or a date, the sentence should keep it, exactly.
Under the limit
Short is the point: under the word limit you picked, with no “This text discusses…” to open it.
What's free, and what signing up adds
Without an account: 1 free run a day, on GPT-6 Luna, shared with the free message on our home page. It takes up to 1,600 characters, writes up to about 600 tokens (roughly 450 words), and shows you the start of the summary.
Signing up is free, with an email link and no card. llmwise accounts are for people 18 and older. The summary you ran comes with you as your first chat, and you get 5 free messages on almost every model (all but Claude Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra).
Signed in, the tool runs on the model you pick, on your plan, shows the whole answer, and you can carry on in the chat with any model, or ask another model the same thing.
More free tools are on the tools page, and what each plan gives is on pricing.
Questions
Is the one-sentence summary free?
Yes. Without an account you get 1 run a day on GPT-6 Luna, shared with the free message on our home page: you see the start of the sentence, and the rest when you sign up. Signing up is free and adds 5 free messages on almost every model in llmwise (all but Claude Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra; one of them can be on Claude Opus 5.5), with no card.
How long is the sentence?
Pick the limit: 20, 30 or 40 words. The sentence stays under it, and our test runs count the words and sentences in every model's answer.
What can I summarize in one sentence?
Emails, articles, reports, study abstracts, meeting notes, chapters: anything you can paste. For a summary with key points, use the article summarizer.
Can it summarize in another language?
Yes: pick the language and the sentence is written in it, whatever the text's language.
Which AI summarizes best in one sentence?
Our test runs below gave every model the same five texts and checked each answer was a single sentence under the limit, with the main point and its key figure.
