How the inputs are scored
- Key facts: the answer must state each fact the input turns on (a number, a name, a date or a condition), as the input gives it, keep any format rule the input sets (one sentence, a word limit, a number of items, a length for each), and say nothing the input rules out (an ingredient, a claim it doesn't back); how it's worded isn't judged.
The inputs: short answers from notes, multiple choice on a topic, true or false from a handbook, ten numbered questions, and answers only from the notes. Every model gets the tool's own instructions and up to Pro's reply limit. The method is the same as our other test runs.
How to use the AI quiz generator
Paste your notes or a passage, or name a topic. Up to 1,600 characters.
Pick the kind of question, how many, and the language.
Press “Make the quiz”. Without an account you see the first questions (1 free run a day, no account needed).
Check the answer key against your material before you use it.
Tips for a better answer
Quiz on your material
Paste the notes rather than naming the topic. The questions then match what you taught, and the answers can be checked against it.
Say who's answering
Say who it's for (“new staff”, “a pub quiz”, “first-year nursing”) and the difficulty follows.
Spread the questions
Ask for “one question on each paragraph” when the material is long; otherwise questions cluster where the facts are densest.
Explain the key
Signed in, ask the chat to explain each answer in a line. It turns the key into a study sheet.
What a good quiz looks like
A key you can trust
Every answer in the key should be right, and when you pasted notes, it should come from them. Check the key before you hand the quiz out: that's the part people argue about.
One right answer, fair distractors
In a multiple-choice question, exactly one option should be right and the wrong ones should be plausible. “Paris, a banana, 1776, blue” tests nothing.
Understanding, not recall of wording
The questions should test understanding, not word-matching: “why does ice float?” rather than “what is the first word of paragraph two?”.
Covers the whole text
Questions should spread across the material, not all come from its first paragraph.
What's free, and what signing up adds
Without an account: 1 free run a day, on GPT-6 Luna, shared with the free message on our home page. It takes up to 1,600 characters, writes up to about 600 tokens (roughly 450 words), and shows you the start of the quiz.
Signing up is free, with an email link and no card. llmwise accounts are for people 18 and older. The quiz you ran comes with you as your first chat, and you get 5 free messages on almost every model (all but Claude Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra).
Signed in, the tool runs on the model you pick, on your plan, shows the whole answer, and you can carry on in the chat with any model, or ask another model the same thing.
More free tools are on the tools page, and what each plan gives is on pricing.
Questions
Is the AI quiz generator free?
Yes. Without an account you get 1 run a day on GPT-6 Luna, shared with the free message on our home page: you see the first questions, and the rest when you sign up. Signing up is free and adds 5 free messages on almost every model in llmwise (all but Claude Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra; one of them can be on Claude Opus 5.5), with no card.
What kinds of questions can it write?
Multiple choice (four options, one right), true or false, and short answer. Every quiz ends with an answer key.
Can it make a quiz from my notes?
Paste them into the box (up to 1,600 characters in a free run) and the questions come only from them. Signed in, attach a PDF or paste a whole chapter.
Can I run the quiz online?
It writes the quiz as text you can paste into a form tool (Google Forms, Microsoft Forms) or print. It doesn't host the quiz or grade answers.
Which AI writes the best quizzes?
Our test runs below gave every model the same five sources and checked that its answer key had the right answers, taken from the material.
Which AI is best for this, in your tests?
